On January 11th, members of The Saturday Club visited One House At A Time (OHAAT), a prior Grant Fund recipient, to help build bed kits for kids in the Philadelphia area.
OHAAT’s mission is to help families who are currently lacking resources to establish (or reestablish) a self-sufficient life by providing them with the necessities of a functional home environment. Their focus is on ending child bedlessness to improve overall health and wellbeing. Through their Beds for Kids program, they provide children and youth living in poverty with beds, bedding, and tools that encourage healthy bedtime habits, so they can get the quality and sufficient sleep they need to thrive.
Our members spent Thursday evening helping in the warehouse with bag packing, book sorting, and blanket making for deliveries to be made to homes the following week. Kits even included stuffed animals!
