On Wednesday March 19th, The Saturday Club hosted Today Is A Good Day at the clubhouse, an organization dedicated to offering support to parents of NICU babies. The evening began with a presentation about the organization, and the needed assistance they offer to parents facing the challenges of navigating having a baby in the NICU.
More than 50 volunteers, families and children worked to create handmade bonding squares – small fabric squares woven in pairs and given to babies and their parents to wear against their skin. The squares are swapped at each visit, so each has the scent of the other, which has proven to have emotional and physical benefits for both parents and baby while they are apart.
A huge thank you to everyone who showed up to loom, knit and weave, as well as those who donated toward bonding square kits. Thanks to your generosity, our TSC Kids volunteers were able to craft even more squares for this meaningful cause.
The event was able to create over 30 Bonding Squares for families, create more than 35 handwritten notes for families and raise over $1k towards the cause – a successful evening! We are so honored to offer our support to this organization and help families stay connected.
