The Saturday Club’s third annual Handbag Bingo event took place at Berwyn United Methodist Church on Thursday, January 25, 2018. The sold-out event was packed with luxurious bingo prizes generously donated by Tory Burch, Lilly Pulitzer, India Hicks, Neely & Chloe, Coach, J. McLaughlin, A. Jacoby & Company and David Yurman, among others.

Now in its 132nd year, The Saturday Club of Wayne is pulsing with new members. The philanthropic and social group just inducted its largest “freshmen class” in years, welcoming 25 women into the ranks of active members, which now total 73.

The Saturday Club in Wayne, one of the oldest women’s non-profit organizations in both Pennsylvania and nationwide, announced Wednesday that 25 new members have been inducted for 2018.
This marks the largest class of new members in recent history, the organization said.

On Saturday, Feb. 16 1886, 12 enterprising women who accompanied their husbands to Wayne – where men went to conduct business – met for the first time in Wayne Hall. The number may have been small but their impact was mighty, as the revolutionary group of women began what would eventually be Pennsylvania’s (and perhaps the nation’s) oldest women’s clubs still in operation.
