Curriculum – Grades 3 & 4
Cotillion for grades three and four consists of a series of five classes held on Friday evenings from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Classes at this level provide a safe and fun environment in which students gain skills to become confident and comfortable in various social situations. The curriculum for our 2019 Cotillion is as follows:
- October 4: Introduction to Social Skills
- October 11 : Listening & Conversation
- October 18: Around the World Theme; Courtesy & Consideration
- October 25: Table Manners
- November 8: No Class for 3rd and 4th grade
- November 15: Final Party & Parents Night
- November 22: Make-up Date, if applicable
- Introduction to dance will be taught throughout the course:
- Fox trot
- Waltz
- Bachata
- Swing hustle
- Specialty dances
Curriculum – Grades 5 & 6
Cotillion for grades five and six consists of a series of six classes held on Friday evenings from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Instructors will build upon students’ basic understanding of social skills that contribute to character, improve communication and help foster the development of successful relationships. The curriculum for our 2019 Cotillion is as follows:
- October 4: The Power of Social Skills
- October 11: Face-to-Face Communication
- October 18: 50s Theme; Teamwork & Leadership
- October 25: Dining Etiquette & Manners
- November 8: Special 2-hour Dinner Dance from 6:00-8:00 pm
- November 15: Final Party & Parents Night
- November 22: Make-up Date, if applicable
- Dance instruction is included throughout the program and includes:
- Basic & intermediate patterns of dance
- Fox trot
- Waltz
- Swing hustle
- Introduction to cha cha, merengue & tango
