TSC Kids Reach Out & Read

About the Organization: In partnership with CHOP, the medical professionals involved in the Read Out & Read mission provide brand-new books and encourage reading aloud at every young child’s well visit. They “prescribe” brand new and gently used books for the families to take home and during their visits, the doctors, PAs, NPs will even sometimes read to the children. They understand that parents struggle with balancing work, childcare and self-care, and that early childhood development at home is critical. By collecting new and gently used books to help grow their collection of children’s books available for medical practitioners to use and give to their patients in this program, we’ll be aiding in spreading the importance of reading as a key part of early development.
