Join us at the clubhouse with Ryan’s Case for Smiles on March 25th to make Sibling Coping Boxes and Pillowcase Kits!

Posted on: March 2, 2026

Calling all craft lovers interested in making a difference: put your sewing skills to work for a great cause!

We’re partnering with Ryan’s Case for Smiles, an organization dedicated to helping children facing cancer or serious illness feel better in order to heal better. Founded in 2007, Ryan’s Case for Smiles aims to bring comfort and support to young patients and their families in hospitals around the globe.

It started with a simple goal: to create and distribute whimsical pillowcases that give children an emotional boost and remind them that they are not defined by their illness. More recently, their programs have expanded to include the children’s entire families so they can better navigate and cope with a very difficult experience and avoid long term emotional trauma. At this event, we will be sewing pillowcases and creating Sibling Coping Boxes for the children and families affected by cancer or serious illness.

What is a Coping Box? A coping box is a thoughtfully assembled care package created for the brothers and sisters of children experiencing illness. When a child is hospitalized or undergoing treatment, siblings frequently experience worry or confusion – the coping box provides sensory engagement and play tools to remind them that they are also supported during this difficult time.

Bring the whole crew, all are welcome: this event is open to the public! TSC members, kids, family, and friends,  for a heartwarming craft-for-a-cause event. Pizza and snacks will be provided.
