Giving Wings to All Students in T/E

Since September 2021, our TSCKids families have been working hard to raise awareness and funds for The Foundation for Learning in Tredyffrin/Easttown. The Kindness Coins initiative helps us to teach our member volunteers’ children about the importance of kindness to others through service projects, good deeds and philanthropic efforts.   The kids receive coins by doing chores, being kind to siblings and friends and running charity lemonade and art sale stands. Spreading Birthday Magic

Every child deserves a special birthday celebration! So many of our own children are very fortunate to have wow-worthy parties and wonderful cakes and exciting gifts to round out their annual celebrations. In the spirit of “every child should be celebrated”, our volunteers and TSCKids’ families once again came together to collect and fulfill the birthday-in-a-box dreams of many kids in the Drueding Center’s transitional housing program. 2022 Annual Grant Program Recipients

Last night during our April Membership Meeting, The Saturday Club awarded grant funding to five local organizations with aligned missions. Annual philanthropy grants were presented to Bridge Academy & Community Center, DMAX Foundation, Inglis Foundation, Girls on the Run Southeastern Suburban Pennsylvania and Radnor, A Better Chance. The funds, which were raised by the club through community fundraisers throughout 2021 and 2022, will be used to establish and enhance programs while providing key assistance to each organization. Helping Children Move with Dignity

At the end of February, our member volunteers gathered in our historic clubhouse to assist the Montgomery Child Advocacy Project’s Office of Children & Youth in creating an inventory of pre-assembled overnight bags for children of all ages that come through their office doors.   We are so grateful to the generosity and care our membership showed in helping collect and pack thirty-four backpacks and duffle bags with toiletries, clothing, blankets, stuffed animals, books, journals, and other creature comforts. Helping Fill the Gaps

During the month of February our members supported Mitzvah Circle and their very important mission of helping ‘fill the gaps’ where government aid doesn’t cover basic personal needs. Mitzvah Circle serves struggling families by providing over 100 products including clothing, diapers, deodorant, sanity products, new strollers and car seats and other necessities. These are essential items that people need every single day, but not all can afford to buy. Read Full Post

Women Empowering Other Women

During the month of January our members engaged in multiple activities to support Wings for Success and their exciting move from their Frazer location to the Exton Mall. Wings for Success empowers women and teens in-need to achieve career and economic stability. There are many young women that need guidance and support toward building economic independence and single working mothers whose income limits their ability to take care of themselves and their families. Two Peas in a Pod: TSC + PSP

The Saturday Club kicked off the second half of our Club year with a hands-on collection and service drive involving all of our TSC families! Prospective members, member volunteers, board members and our children gathered together at The Saturday Club to support the Greater Philadelphia Area chapter of Project Sweet Peas. We learned about the fragile needs of premature babies and specifically some important ways to support NICU families through PSP programs and resources.  Read Full Post

Gifting a Little Breathing Room

Around the holiday season, The Saturday Club often looks to find a local organization to partner with to fulfill a special in-need group’s holiday wish list. This year, The Saturday Club had the opportunity to help brighten one family’s Christmas by collecting and wrapping gifts. We met Yasmine, an 8 year old little girl with neuroblastoma, her three brothers and mother through The Breathing Room Foundation. Read Full Post

Providing Comfort & Support One Pillowcase at a Time

For our December Community Outreach project, our member volunteers collaborated with a local women-owned business in support of Ryan’s Case for Smiles. Ryan’s Case for Smiles is a locally-established charitable organization that aims to bring comfort to children and families who are undergoing treatment for cancer or other illnesses requiring hospitalization. The organization was formed in Wayne when a local 12-year-old was diagnosed with cancer and his mother wanted to brighten his hospital stays with a brightly-colored pillowcase. Read Full Post

Closing the Gap on Food Insecurity

Every year during the month of November many of us are reminded to reflect on all that we are grateful for in the spirit of Thanksgiving. This season is also a time to consider those who may not have the same access to these things and to help find ways to assist in filling the void. Read Full Post
