Camp Sojourner, Girls’ Leadership Camp — an organization we discovered through the Movement Alliance Project. Camp Sojourner is a non-profit program dedicated to offering young girls an opportunity to learn and grow as leaders in their own lives and become ‘agents of change’ in their communities. This mission aligns so well with The Saturday Club’s, which has dedicated itself to empowering women to lift one another, while providing aid to our local community, for the last 135 years. This month, The Saturday Club partnered with TSC Kids Create Birthday Kits for Children at Drueding Center

This past week, some of our TSC Kids families and Member Volunteers collected and assembled 15 “Birthday-in-a-Box” kits for children of the young, homeless families in the transitional housing program at Used Technology Drive Helps Arm Local Students with Essential Resources for Virtual School During Pandemic
Philadelphia Children’s Foundation. PCF’s mission is to help arm every child with an equal opportunity to learn in the digital age.
Dozens of used laptops, web cameras, tablets, printers and accompanying accessories were collected and delivered to PCF — where their technology refurbishment volunteers could immediately prepare the tech to be put into the hands of local students and faculty throughout Philadelphia and its Western Suburbs. Throughout the month of January, The Saturday Club ran a community-wide Used Technology Drive in support of the Thanksgiving Food Donation Drive in Support of Philabundance
Philabundance this Thanksgiving season. We were able to raise over $2,400 — allowing Philabundance to provide over 4,800 nutritious meals for local persons facing food insecurity. Thank you to all our members, their families & friends and our community who helped spread the news about this important drive and donated to such an important cause! Read Full Post
The Saturday Club hosted a virtual food donation drive in support of Annual Red Cross Blood Drive Another Great Success
American Red Cross has been an important annual community event for many years at The Saturday Club — and this year was no exception. Before our doors even opened, we had over 80 booked appointments! We were ultimately able to collect nearly 65 pints of blood for the American Red Cross during such a critical time for donations. Read Full Post

The Saturday Club, with help from our membership, their children and our community, collected over 650 children’s books for Partnering to Support ‘Off Their Plate’
The Saturday Club held its first Community Outreach project of the new club season — virtually! — this past weekend. The event kicked off with an inspiring presentation by event chair Stephanie Harris, who introduced us to Off Their Plate, a grassroots nonprofit with a dual mission to provide an economic lifeline to COVID-impacted restaurants and also feed frontline workers and communities in crisis.
