The Saturday Club, one of the oldest women’s non-profit organizations in both Pennsylvania and nationwide, today announced it inducted 13 new members on Tuesday night, bringing the total of new members inducted this year to 38.
The new members include Alyssa Brown, Ingrid Bretschger, Meryl Cooper, Megan Lofgren, Allison Mafodda, Katie McGlade, Lindsey Mundi, Brynne Ott, Stephanie Souders, Molly Stefanski, Gina Terkanian, Colleen Torrence and Natalie Villegas.
“Each woman in this newest class of inductees possesses an impressive professional background and skillset that will enhance our organization,” said Cory Townend, President of The Saturday Club. “We’re thrilled we are continuing to grow as it will enable us to reach more people, and ultimately, help us fulfill our mission of providing philanthropic support to area women’s and children’s charities.”
Among the oldest women’s clubs in both Pennsylvania and nationwide, The Saturday Club is dedicated to providing philanthropic support to women’s and children’s charitable organizations via financial support and volunteer service hours. The organization awarded 2018 grant funding to six local organizations last month, Adoption Center of Delaware Valley, The Baby Bureau, Foundation for Learning in Tredyffrin/Easttown (FLITE), Gateway Horse Works, TheVillage, and West Philadelphia Alliance for Children (WePAC). The funds, which were raised by the club via campaigns and projects throughout 2017 and 2018, will be used to establish and enhance programs while providing key assistance to each organization. In addition to philanthropy and direct community service, The Saturday Club hosts events for the local community at the group’s historic clubhouse in downtown Wayne.
