The Saturday Club is proud to be among several local organizations participating in an exciting community event that will take place this May at the King of Prussia Mall. Laurel House, a local community domestic abuse agency, will be the recipient organization of a national exhibition project called “Work of heART.” Participating organizations, including The Saturday Club, will collect donations for Laurel House and then use those products to build a work of art, in sculpture form.
The Saturday Club will collect thousands of donated items throughout March and April and utilize those donations to construct a unique, one-of-a-kind structure that aligns to the exhibition’s theme “Healthy Relationships and Strong Communities”. The exhibition is modeled after similarly run CANstruction projects that have been showcased around the world, (see photos for examples). Donations and help from supporters, including members, the community and local and national businesses will ensure the success of this important project and will directly benefit Laurel House.
The exhibition will be on display from May 17th until June 2nd, located in the indoor courtyard directly outside of Bloomingdales. During this time, pedestrian shoppers will have a chance to vote on their favorite “Work of heART” and winners will be announced in a closing ceremony on the final day of the exhibition. Shoppers will also have a chance to learn more about the services offered at Laurel House, The Saturday Club, and participating groups as well as see a list of the companies who contributed to the event.
