What an amazing day with TSC Kids at our Cradles to Crayons Philadelphia donation sorting event yesterday at our clubhouse!
TSC Kids Club and parent members rolled up their sleeves to sort over 42 bags of clothing for children of all ages. Every item sorted helps support Cradles to Crayons’ mission: providing children living in poverty with the clothing essentials they need to thrive at home, at school, and at play. More than 300,000 children in Greater Philadelphia are at risk of Clothing Insecurity and without access to school-appropriate clothing and school supplies, and Cradles to Crayons provides children with these resources – at no cost to the families.
TSC volunteers also sorted a bag of children’s books and a large bin of brand-new school supplies, making sure families have one less worry while navigating hardship. Plus, thanks to efforts like these, Cradles to Crayons is keeping thousands of pounds of clothing out of landfills each year in Greater Philadelphia, putting gently used essentials back into circulation and shrinking the carbon footprint of critical resources.
Thank you to everyone who showed up and made an impact on children’s lives within the community. Together, we are helping families move forward with dignity and hope by meeting their needs and supporting their children’s success.
