What a start to our 2024-2025 club year volunteer events! On Saturday Sept 7th and Sunday Sept 8th, TSC volunteers assisted with the Kennett Square Mushroom Festival’s Painted Mushroom tent, where they helped with the voting contest and silent auction on artist-made painted mushrooms, and sold raffle tickets to win the 108 lb concrete painted mushroom grand prize.
Despite less than ideal weather on Saturday, volunteers braved the elements and sold hundreds of raffle tickets – one of the local artist’s painted mushroom even went for $500 in the silent raffle, all for a great cause! Funds raised from the Painted Mushroom tent support the Mushroom Festival’s Annual Grant, which offers support to local non-profits around Kennett Square. Several beneficiaries of the Festival’s grant are also recipients of The Saturday Club’s own Grant Program and community outreach, including A Child’s Light, Camp Dreamcatcher and Family Promise of Southern Chester County.
We are proud to have assisted at this event as it furthers The Saturday Club’s efforts too; supporting organizations whose purpose is to uplift women and children, and to extend our community outreach to those in need.
