This week, The Saturday Club visited One House at a Time at their warehouse and prepared bedtime bags for delivery to children in need. OHAAT is an organization geared towards solving child bedlessness in underserved communities, setting children up for success by providing healthy sleeping arrangements and habits, thereby improving overall health and wellbeing.
Volunteers “shopped” the warehouse to put together “bedtime bags” containing bedsheets, blankets, stuffed animals, age appropriate books, a toothbrush and a pillow, which were then sent along with a bed frame and mattress. Providing these resources to children in need encourages healthy bedtime habits so they can get the quality sleep needed to thrive.
Prior to visiting the warehouse, TSC members collected 85 sets of twin sheets throughout October to include in the bedtime bags for OHAAT’s Beds for Kids Program.
The TSC Kids Club also raised enough money at their Fall Fest Table at our Consignment Sale in September to purchase an entire bed kit – mattress, frame, bedtime bag and all!
Thank you to the volunteers who assisted – both big and small – your support helps children in our community in getting their best night’s sleep!
