During the month of January our members engaged in multiple activities to support Wings for Success and their exciting move from their Frazer location to the Exton Mall. Wings for Success empowers women and teens in-need to achieve career and economic stability. There are many young women that need guidance and support toward building economic independence and single working mothers whose income limits their ability to take care of themselves and their families. Through Wings for Success, these women receive education, advocacy, and are confidently dressed for their interview and later supported through their employment and career journey.
Our members spent two days hard at work prepping the new storefront and helping prepare for the big move! Day 1 was spent in their incredible new space located in the former Banana Republic at the Exton Mall. Volunteers spent the morning painting the display walls to be used for handbags and shoes, and organizing the racks and overflow area in the storage room.
On Day 2, our volunteers helped to pack up the remaining items at their soon-to-be former location in Frazer. From packaging up office supplies and filing cabinets, to breaking down clothing racks and boxing up shoes, our members finished up a lot of the packing for Wings – 36 hours before the movers were scheduled to arrive!
To further support the expansion of their efforts, The Saturday Club also held a professional clothing, footwear and apparel collection drive focused on helping to collect gently-used and new women’s winter attire. Members then loaded three SUVs with the generous donations and dropped them off at the new store, to be sorted and added to their racks.
The new space, located inside the Exton Mall, provides a boutique-like shopping experience for their clients, with a welcoming reception area, trained stylists and 9 private dressing rooms. The space is double the size of their former location, and has room for in-person workshops and a clean, professional area for on-site interviewing and career counsel.
